How long does it take to mold injection molding?
Aug 10, 2021
How long is the time period from mold design to injection molding? This is a question that many customers are more concerned about. After all, time is efficiency, and the shorter the time, the lower the cost. Regarding this time issue, we have to analyze and understand from the perspective of multiple degrees. For example, if the product structure, size, requirements, product materials, specific production quantities and so on. What are the specific ones, let's take a look together:
1. Product structure: refers to the structural difficulty of samples provided by customers for plastic parts. The more complex the shape of the plastic part, the more difficult it is to make a mold. Technically speaking, the more parting surfaces of plastic parts, the more assembly positions, buckle positions, hole positions, and rib positions, the greater the processing difficulty, and the correspondingly longer mold making time.
2. Product size: The larger the size, the longer the cycle of plastic mold processing.
3. Product material performance: The product has special requirements, and the requirements for mold steel and processing technology are also different.
4. Product requirements: Different customers have different requirements for products. Whether the designed appearance surface is sub-surface or glossy or mirror surface will affect the production cycle of plastic molds.
5. The number of cavities of the mold: a set of molds has several cavities, and a set of molds produces several products. It depends on the size of the customer’s product market. There must be a difference between two products and one product. The processing time will be different. It is also different.
The mold development cycle is generally about 20-25 days, and the estimated time for a little more complicated and large parts will be longer.
