Classification and occupancy of molds
Jun 30, 2021
The main types of molds are: die, forging mold, plastic mold, die-casting mold, powder metallurgy mold, glass mold, rubber mold, ceramic mold, etc. The above-mentioned various molds except for the part of the die are cavity molds, because they generally rely on the three-dimensional mold cavity to form materials. Take the plastic mold as an example: the plastic mold is the process equipment for plastic molding. Plastic molds account for about 35% of the total number of molds, and there is a continuing upward trend. Plastic molds mainly include compression molds, extrusion molds, injection molds, as well as extrusion molds, foam molding molds, low-foam injection molding molds, and blow molding molds.
The mold involves a wide range of processes, including mechanical design and manufacturing, plastics, rubber processing, metal materials, casting (solidification theory), plastic processing, glass and many other disciplines and industries. It is a multi-disciplinary synthesis, and its complexity is obvious.
